My Counselling Approach

Client-centered | Holistic | Integrative | Non-pathologizing

I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is key to fostering growth. I view each individual as the expert in their own life, capable of creating meaning and navigating their own journey. Through empathetic listening, a strengths-based approach, and empowering clients to make courageous choices, I aim to support and guide you in a way that respects your autonomy and inherent resilience.

I practice a respect-based, gentle, and progressive approach to therapy, guided by the principles of safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.

Tailored to fit your needs

My approach draws from a range of therapeutic modalities, including:

  • Humanistic/Person Centered Therapy

  • Mindfulness

  • Somatic & Movement Practices

  • Polyvagal Theory

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

This eclectic mix supports the creation of a therapeutic experience that honours individuality while providing a wide range of tools to support healing and growth.

“The curious paradox is that when I

accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
- Carl Rogers

What to Expect at Your First Appointment:

First of all, it takes courage to reach out for help! It is normal to feel nervous, anxious, and overwhelmed about uncertainties you have regarding your first session.

Your first session will be an opportunity to meet your counsellor, build a foundation of trust, discuss your reasons for seeking help, provide details about your background and current situation, and establish goals for therapy. You will have a chance to ask questions about the therapeutic process and approach, and establish a treatment plan. Your counsellor will review confidentiality and you will both sign a contract for services.

Individual Counselling

I offer a safe, confidential, and nurturing space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. The counselling process is collaborative and guided by safety, choice, and empowerment in moving you towards your goals. I tailor my therapeutic approach to suit what makes you uniquely you, drawing on evidence based treatment modalities.

I am committed to maintaining a limited client base to ensure that I provide personalized treatment and uphold a high standard of care for each client.
